Heat Pump Rebate Program

NOTICE TO APPLICANTS FOR ELECTRIC HEAT PUMP REBATES UNDER VINELAND MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY ENERGY EFFICIENT EQUIPMENT PROGRAM

Applications for electric heat pump rebates must be processed by a participating contractor when qualified equipment is purchased. In order for you to receive a rebate, the equipment and installation must meet the requirements of the Vineland Municipal Electric Utility (VMEU), which your participating contractor can explain to you. In addition, you must meet these general requirements:

1. The site where the equipment will be installed must be located in VMEU service territory;
2. You must currently be or must have made application to be a customer of VMEU (applications for new service may be obtained at City Hall);
3. Your VMEU account must be in good standing (no outstanding bill over 30 days);
4. You maintain your rights to any applicable dealer/manufacturer rebates on equipment purchased. This program does not replace or depend on any other dealer/manufacturer sponsored offer;
5. You must allow an initial inspection by VMEU so we can confirm that the equipment and installation requirements have been satisfied;
6. We (VMEU) reserve the right to inspect your backup heating system to insure that it complies with program requirements;
7. If you lease, you must provide a notarized letter of approval from the property owner to install qualifying equipment in order to receive a rebate.
